    INTERCHANGEABILITY

    Effective 31 December 1960, MS51059 and MS51060 were cancelled and suspended by MS51038 and MS51039 respectively.

    Screws covered by the dash numbers given ini MS51039 are cancelled after 29 January 1964 and superseded by the srews covered on MS51039 having the same dash nuber. (MS51039-8-9 having no replacement.) Cancelled screw may be used until existing stocks are depleted. Use only MS51038 screws for new design.

NOTES:
    		2. MATERIAL : Corrosion-Resisting steel, 300 Series, in accordance with procurement specification.
    		3. PROTECTIVE COATING: Passivate in according with qq-p-35.
    		4. THREADS: The threads shall be in accordane with MIL_S_7742.
    		5. MAGNETIC PERMEABBILITY: These setscrews have a mangnetic permeability of 2.0 mx (air = 1.0) for a field strength of H = 200 aersteds, when using a magnetic indicator per MIL-I_17214.
    		6. DIMENTIONS:All dimensions are in inches, unless otherwise specidied.
    		7. PART NUMBER: The MS part number consists of the MS number, plus the dash number. Example: MS51038_101.
    		8. SELF-LOCKING ELEMENT: The MS part number consists of the MS number, plus the dash number. Example: MS51038_101.


    (B)
    1. The self-lockingh element shall be in accordance with MIL-F-18240.
    2. For design and usage limitations, See MS15981.
    3. Location of effective loacking area shall be in accordance with MS51981.
    4. Maximum ring gage diameter that loacking region of serscrew must pass thru freely or with finger pressure shall be the nominal size pluse 0.010.
    5. MIL-F-18240 doesn't establis torque requirement for lengths above the dashed line. Only a positive indication of torque is required.
    		9.    Referenced douments shall be of the issue in effect on date of invitations for bid.
    		10.   For design feature purposes, this standard takes precedence over procurement documents referenced herein.
